Toronto Raptors sign point guard Fred VanVleet to multi-year contractTORONTO – The Toronto Raptors have signed guard Fred VanVleet to a multi-year contract after an impressive showing for the Raptors' Summer League team.The six-foot, 195-pound VanVleet averaged 6.2 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 16 minutes over five Summer League games.He shot .417 (10-for-24) from the field and .545 (6-for-11) from three-point range.VanVleet played four seasons at Wichita State (2012-16), averaging 10.2 points, 4.5 assists, 1.6 steals and 26.8 minutes in 141 career games.

Fred VanVleet went to Las Vegas and won big.The Toronto Raptors announced Monday that they've signed the undrafted six-foot, 195-pound point guard to a multi-year contract.He played well through five games for the Raptors in the Las Vegas Summer League, averaging 6.2 points, three rebounds and 1.6 assists in 16 minutes per game.VanVleet spent four years with the Wichita State Shockers, taking the program into the NCAA tournament each year he played there.

There aren't as many names out there, but let's hash this out.Being a team's 15th man is a rather ignoble honour, but it still means a player is in the NBA.This is no small thing.Notwithstanding the Fred VanVleet signing (since it appears very unlikely the Raptors will carry four point guards on the roster), the Raptors still have a slot open on their roster.
