Toronto Raptors guard Kyle Lowry has a player option in his contract for the 2017-18 season and is expected to exercise his right to test the open market next summer.The 30-year-old all-star was acquired by the Raptors in a trade with the Houston Rockets in July 2012 and signed a reported four-year, $48-million US deal prior to the 2014 season to remain in Toronto, despite interest from teams such as the Los Angeles Lakers.In an interview with The Vertical, Lowry expressed his desire to reach a new agreement with the Raptors, but he is also open to exploring other options and has a chance to earn a hefty raise from his current salary of $12 million US.Over four seasons with the Raptors, Lowry has appeared in 294 regular-season games (278 as a starter), posting averages of 17.3 points, 6.8 assists and 4.7 rebounds.
