The Toronto Raptors were the No.1 seed heading into the NBA Summer League Tournament, but the Timberwovles knocked the Raptors out in the quarterfinals after Tyus Jones drew a foul as the final buzzer sounded with the game tied at 79.Jones, the former Duke star, was in the corner with time running and pump faked Yanick Moreira, who went soaring by.Jones was unable to get a shot off, but he lifted his leg and made contact with Moreira in the air, and the official called a foul on the defender with .4 remaining on the clock.

Raptors sign Fred VanVleet, point guard impressed in Summer League
Fred VanVleet went to Las Vegas and won big.The Toronto Raptors announced Monday that they've signed the undrafted six-foot, 195-pound point guard to a multi-year contract.He played well through five games for the Raptors in the Las Vegas Summer League, averaging 6.2 points, three rebounds and 1.6 assists in 16 minutes per game.VanVleet spent four years with the Wichita State Shockers, taking the program into the NCAA tournament each year he played there.

Powell shakes off injury to lead Raptors past Warriors at Summer League
Norman Powell shook off an injury scare to lead the top-seeded Toronto Raptors past the Golden State Warriors 75-69 in Summer League action on Thursday.Powell suffered a left thigh bruise during the third quarter, but returned after a brief trip to the locker room to finish the night with a team-high 17 points, including eight in the fourth period.Bruno Caboclo added 12 points on 3-of-8 shooting in the Raptors' victory while Jakob Poeltl registered seven points to go along with seven rebounds.Patrick McCaw paced the Warriors with 28 points, including five three-pointers.
