Masai Ujiri and the Toronto Raptors are engaged in advanced discussions on a contract extension.Ujiri has two seasons remaining on his five-year, $15 million deal signed in May of 2013.Ujiri won NBA Executive of the Year honors in 2012-13 with Denver in his final season with the Nuggets, then joined the Raptors and has been steadily building them into a contender.The Raptors reached the Eastern Conference Finals this past season.

The Toronto Raptors and general manager Masai Ujiri are in "advanced negotiations" on a contract extension, according to ESPN's Marc Stein and Brian Windhorst.The report indicates Ujiri, whose original contract ran through the 2017-18 season, will stay with the Raptors "for the foreseeable future."This is an important move for an organization that wants to be seen as not only successful, but stable.Ujiri arrived in Toronto in the summer of 2013.

The Toronto Raptors are reportedly working to extend the contract of general manager Masai Ujiri, according to a report from Marc Stein and Brian Windhorst of ESPN.Ujiri played six years of professional basketball overseas before retiring in 2002.He became a youth coach in Nigeria, his home country, and attended an NBA draft tryout with a Nigerian player.He caught the eye of Magic scouting director Gary Brokaw, who then introduced Ujiri to coach Doc Rivers and GM John Gabriel.
